It's a chance for players from schools like Prairie View A&M and UNLV to get exposure for scouts. Players who stand out in drills here will get second looks on the tape. Regardless of the importance of the drills, the Combine is helpful as a new lens through which we can observe prospects. If you wanted to know which wide receiver can jump highest, which quarterback is most accurate with no pressure, or which offensive tackle has the longest arms, this is where your questions will be answered. The NFL Combine begins next week, and the annual collection of measurements and workouts of ambiguous importance is sure to generate plenty of discussion for the next few months. Neo-Berlin is ruled by the tubby mayor, Mr. The plot, which takes an age to get going, is pedestrian. And as quickly as you can say “Help me,Obi-Wan Kenobi”, you’re off on an adventure to find out what he was doing before his mysterious disappearance. Tina discovers that the father who vanished when she was young was actually caught up in some pretty dodgy stuff and buried a message within SAM for her to find when she turned ten. Nine-year-old orphan Tina spends her days scavenging the city for food, parts and, erm, socks, while her robot buddy SAM-53 - assigned to her at birth by the government - pootles along beside her with the aim of protecting her at all costs. “Tries” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence, because the game, as lovely as it looks, is at best a passable analogue of much better games but with a technoskin. Encodya is available now on Steam for $19.99.In the meantime, Encodya tries to scratch the wish fulfilment itch of anyone longing for a cyberpunk point-and-click. This review is based on a digital download code provided by the publisher. Encodya is a sometimes passable, middling take on Cyberpunk, and an average point-and-click adventure. However, none of those are enough to overcome a heavy-handed narrative and some messy gameplay mechanics. Endearing characters, beautiful art design, solid quality of life features. A grey tomorrowĮncodya truly has some neat aspects going for it. Whether it be a car being carried by a flying tow, or massive ads scrolling by, the developers nail the dystopian sci-fi aesthetic in Encodya. The world of Neo Berlin feels handcrafted, with so much always going on. The attention to detail is present in the art of Encodya as well. It’s an attention to detail that makes the world feel a bit more real. For example, there was a professor that I had a lengthy discussion with while playing as Tina, but when I swapped to SAM-53, he killed the conversation, stating he couldn’t speak to a robot. The character that you’re playing as will trigger different dialogue responses from the NPCs. Some puzzles can only be solved by a specific character. At any given time, players can swap between Tina and SAM-53, and lead the gameplay as them. I enjoyed the way Encodya handled its dual protagonists in regards to gameplay. Luckily, the game does allow you to press the spacebar and highlight items that can be picked up, but I wish it did something similar for objectives. Oftentimes I found myself getting stuck where I just started, clicking on every object and combining every item until I stumbled upon the right solution. Though you can always look at your active objectives, the world design does very little to point you in the right direction, or give you clever hints as to what should happen next. I found a lot of the core gameplay to feel messy. Click, click, boomĪs a point-and-click adventure game, Encodya’s gameplay often centers around solving puzzles, finding items, and other typical mechanics of the genre. Most of the NPCs and side characters come off as stiff or awkward. Unfortunately, they’re really the only performances that standout in Encodya. This relationship is anchored by some solid performances in both roles. We’ve seen the “little kid with a big robot/pet/monster companion” several times in games and other media, but it still works in Encodya, or maybe I’m just a sucker. One thing that really landed for me in Encodya’s story was the dynamic between Tina and SAM-53. It’s also hard not to draw the blatant similarities from the stereotypical “corrupt politician” to a not-so-far-in-the-past American President. This is evident in a lot of the dialogue, like when Tina says something along the lines of “the government is using drugs to control the people” when she sees a drug addicted person hobbling through the street. However, I didn’t find much subtlety or nuance to any of these themes, as the game often hits you over the head with them, or spells it out entirely for you. The developers go as far to state this explicitly in a disclaimer when you launch the game. The story in Encodya is all about commentary on the increasing control that the media and big corporations have over society. Tina and SAM-53 are forced to deal with the harsh realities of the world head on at a young age. From megacorporations ruling over society, to the overt corruption in the government, The city of Neo Berlin is about as bleak as it gets. Cyberpunk 2062Įncodya is rooted in core themes of the Cyberpunk genre. After discovering a message from her father, Tina finds herself on a journey to restore balance to the world and save it from despair. Recently orphaned by the death of her mother, nine year old Tina must navigate the harsh world around her alongside SAM-53, her robotic companion assigned to her at birth. Developed by Chaosmonger Studio and published by Assemble Entertainment, Encodya is set in the year 2062. Triadic ColorsĬolors that are equally spaced around the color wheel create vibrant color harmony and make a very dynamic effect in a painting. Analogous ColorsĬolors that are next to each other on the color wheel create harmony and are very calming to the eye in any painting. If you paint two complementary colors next to each other in a painting it will create a strong amount of contrast vibrancy, and excitement. Typically the names of these tertiary colors begin with the primary color name plus the secondary color name as follows:Ĭolors that are located directly opposite each other on the color wheel are known as complementary colors. Tertiary colors are duller than the primary and secondary colors. You will create the six tertiary colors by blending a primary color with an adjacent secondary color. The secondary colors, orange, green, and purple (violet) are created by mixing equal parts of two primary colors together. The colors you will see in my color wheel were created with the Winsor & Newton paint colors listed above. NOTE: There are many different primary paint colors available on the market and when you blend different reds, yellows, and blues together you will get slight variations in the color wheel. If you are a beginner painter, these are the first three tubes of paint I would recommend you purchase. I've listed the paint colors I used below. I used Winsor & Newton Professional Water Colour paints to create my color wheel. Every other color in the color wheel, including black, can be mixed using just these three colors. Primary colors will come straight out of the tube. Let's start by painting your primary colors. Learning how to mix colors is a great skill to have and a good way to practice the art of mixing colors is to create a color wheel. You can easily create every color imaginable using just the three primary paint colors. When you take any of my online painting classes I provide you with a color swatch so you can see all of the paint colors I use to create each painting but you don't have to have all of the colors. When I first began painting and had little money to invest in paints I bought three primary colors, red, yellow, and blue, and I learned how to mix those three paint colors together to create any other color I needed for a painting. Though a largely directive-sanctioned turn.įeeble you kinda suck, what the gently caress. There's a lot of behind the scenes stuff happening at the moment that Feeble has no idea about, even we have no idea just what is going on right now. I forgot about a couple of incidents that happened in this section of the game and they really took me by surprise. In this episode, things get dark very quickly as we finish off this chapter of the game. I thought you were with the crop circle division, not uhhhh vivisection I'm going to have to google the VA credits already, pretty much every character is making me think 'aargh I know that voice who are they'. Feeble acquires a new nickname, explores a new area, engages in an unnecessarily long cutscene and gets spoken at by several new people. This episode is a little varied, also I found out that there are subtitles in this version of the game. I always wanted to give this one a go, but back in the day it was, supposedly, near impossible to get to work, in addition to the BS you mentioned in the OP. In reality it's mostly just a mild mannered chump who walks around and talks to people while solving a few puzzles. They make it out to look like an action adventure game. Is this it? There's another one without a watermark but it looks like a poor quality VHS RIP: I actually dug that disc out from my plastic CD holder only to discover that it won't work on modern OS's with even the video files being seemingly hardcoded for windows 95. I remember seeing a trailer for this game on a Demo disc a very long time ago, they made the interesting choice of having no dialogue and no indication of what the game was actually supposed to be about. What the gently caress is that? what the gently caress is that is that a loving cat? ay, don’t fuckin look at me like that, thats a weird lookin fuckin cat! MA! THERES A WEIRD FUCKIN STRAY CAT OUTSIDE IT LOOKS. I'm not planning on doing anything more heavy-duty until the new year. I don't believe that the workload will be too much and if one or the other starts to suffer I will make some changes. The X-Files seems like it's going to be fun to be the same way. This game is fun and pretty linear so it's going to be straightforward. So I decided to focus on doing an LP of something that I knew I could have fun with while spending a couple of hours on a weekend working on a new Simon video. The third game has a lot of flaws but is still fun to play, the fourth game is dull and the fifth game is marginally better. I always wanted to finish the Simon series, 3D felt good to do as a standalone LP in its own right but the fourth and fifth games didn't. It does suffer a little with a couple of annoying puzzles which I will get to them in time, I will discuss them when we get there and try to make the process as painless as possible.Īs for the amount of LP's, the later Simon games are the reason why I decided to do concurrent LP's. The later Simons really lost me but I hope to follow this one.įor the most part, this is a really lovely game with a unique bunch of characters and settings. Rocket Baby Dolls fucked around with this message at 22:25 on Feb 17, 2020 If you need to talk spoilers please use the appropriate tags. My plan is to upload one video each and every weekend. Apparently some people found other methods to cheat the system. It was so notorious the developer's uploaded a save game so people could bypass the section in question. I've only ever completed it once as there's a part of a game that is complete bullshit. This is another game from my youth that I have fond memories of. It was released in 1997 and developed by Adventure Soft, who also created the Simon The Sorcerer series, so expect a lot of British humour and voice talent. The Feeble Files is a point 'n' click adventure game that follows the adventures of an alien called Feeble. If meat is murder, then that rug is at least a severe beating. Normally I don't make aesthetic criticisms in other peoples' homes, but that rug looks like a beaver exploded. I prefer GT over forza dunno why I ve played forza 1/2 and cannot forget the plastic look of the cars. I liked Shift and I liked it really much. So they must be arcade but look real and convincing enough. GT5 and Forza are going to be colossal blockbusters and they relay mostly on mainstream gamers. Live for speed is another planet and as you know its not an mainstream game. Shift, GT5 and Forza a in the middle between arcade / sim. The physics in LFS are the most accurate are ever seen and drove in a game. Its difficult to compare games like LFS with GT5, Shift and Forza. I will continue to play this game for hours on end because in the end the driving experience is a ton of fun. I still stayed up all night last night playing.but I wonder why EA coulda had a GREAT overall game, and all they released was a GREAT driving game with sub par finish/glitches. Also realized that the reply camera sometimes does not switch automatically which left me a camera staring at a wall but "following" my car haha. And so many body parts (headlights especially) just look like a sticker with no depth or realism. No engine noise on quick drift games (until restart), graphical aliasing that looks like its from '95. The glitches in this game are unforgivable though. It is difficult to pick up, but as soon as you use some finese and don't just mash on the gash and ebrake, it becomes addicting real fast. Drifting in car seriously reminds me of doing it for real. I have never liked in car views, but it is so intense and fun in this game. The driving and drifting in this game are GREAT. Make sure to drive in the cockpit view for the full experience and turn off all the driver aides to get the full effect! You can sample 5 cars: a Lotus Elise, Nissan GT-R, Dodge Viper, BMW M3 and the Pagani Zonda R (once you've unlocked it) on two tracks: London River and Spa-Francorchamps. I also never got a chance to show you this "ode to Matt Powers" S14 that I did up a few weeks ago.īTW If any of you want to try out Need for Speed SHIFT for yourself, you can download the free demo for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as of today. In the meantime I wanted to show you this bolted on overfender that SMS modelled so nicely on the S13! But I'll let him talk to you about that directly. He told me today that some people within his drifting crowd are starting to get the hang of the mode which is great news. Vaughn Gittin JR is also working on a tutorial for the drift mode which he's going to post here early next week. I've been given this link here which shows the main issues that are currently being worked on. I know some of you wanted to find out information about what technical issues with the game are being dealt with by the Need for Speed SHIFT production team. Now Mario should get on the ledge above quickly before running right to stand so two Bullet Bill cannons are visible. In 3-9, you need to retreat the first Green Paratroopa Koopa you see into it's shell before running right underneath the next ledge to toss the Koopa Shell past a low lying Bullet Bill cannon. Let the Koopa Shell loose between the blocks so the thrown Green Spiny Eggs will be plowed through for larger and larger amounts of points. Get to the part of the level where a green pipe is over head with two blocks on the ground blocking the Koopa Shell from being tossed away. On 3-4, Mario will come across three Green Koopa Troopas on a slope, so retreat one back into it's shell before running right to have Lakitu appear overhead. Most notably done in Worlds 3-4 and 3-9, they both require Mario to bring a Koopa Shell with him as he travels forward into the level. Ricocheting Koopa Shell This is a variation on the Endless Enemy Stomp, but instead of Mario hopping on enemy after enemy, he just needs to watch the continual supply of enemies get taken out by a ricocheting Koopa Shell. Also check World 7-5 for three Green Paratroopa Koopas that can also be used to perform this technique. Continue along this pattern to gain extra lives to your hearts content. Now, you will be coming down from the third Dry bone stomp when the first Dry Bones that was stomped will revive to be stomped again. Draw the first three Dry Bones together, and stomp on them one-by-one using the slow descent of the Raccoon Tail. A slightly changed variation of this trick can be performed in the World Two Fortress right near the start. This trick works on World 1-2 where the elevated pipe produces continual Goombas for Mario to use the above strategy on. The ninth enemy killed without touching the ground will begin the 1-Up collecting. The slow descent allows for more enemies to appear so Mario can bounce in the air forever (theoretically). He must stomp on an enemy, bounce into the air, and then slowly descend to the ground to bounce up again. However, this time it is not a Boomerang Brother like the other two in this level, but rather a pair of Fiery Brothers! Defeat this pair of fire-intensive enemies to get a Treasure Chest containing the third and final Warp Whistle!Įndless Enemy Stomp This trick requires an endless supply of enemies for Mario to kill and that Mario be Raccoon Mario. Now Mario can head east through the newly opened path to find a Mushroom House (contains a Frog Suit for Mario) as well as a Wandering Hammer Brothers. where he should use the item to break the rock to his right. Then Mario should move across the map until he arrives at the top right screen. You must first defeat the Wandering Boomerang Brother that carries the Hammer in a Treasure Chest. Warp Whistle Three The Third Whistle is found beyond the Dunes of World Two's desert. Mario will fall into a closed room where a small Treasure Chest sits, holding the second Warp Whistle! Then Mario should run right until he can move no further before pressing UP to go through the door located there. Quickly run back to the left to build up the Speed Meter so Mario can fly, and then take flight straight up off the screen where you should hold RIGHT so Mario will fly over the wall to the right. Stomp the Dry Bones as Mario collects the Power-Up (it needs to be a Leaf to make next part of retrieval possible), and then run right to go past the door to the wall. Head right from the start, dodging through the obstacles of the Fortress until Mario arrives at an area with a Power-Up, a Dry Bones, and a door. Warp Whistle Two The second Whistle is to be found in the World One Fortress. Keep running right to enter into a hidden Mushroom House to gain access to the Whistle from a giant Treasure Box! Keep in mind that if you are jumping around behind the black scenery, you may jump the entrance to the Mushroom House, so just run along the ground). Now Mario has the ability to walk behind the scenery (including other blocks and bushes), so run to the right at top speed to get behind the black at the end of the level (this will be the same area as the Card Box). Get onto the White Platform (the only one in the level), duck down (hold DOWN), and after 5 seconds Mario will fall through the block. To gain access to it's hiding place Mario must go towards the end of the level to the point just short of a Para-Goomba that drops Micro-Goombas. Warp Whistle One The first Whistle to be found is located in World 1-3.
